HOW & WHY

+ THE MISSION

In the Deed Find Glory is the start of my initiative to help people find Glory in their everyday deeds.  At War Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska, home of the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team, there is an inscription on the outside wall which reads "Not the victory but the action, not the goal but the game, in the deed the Glory."

This is one of my favorites and I have used it often in talks and with our high school football team and various groups. We just don't win every time we compete and we do not achieve all of our goals but we need to enjoy and make the most of the action and the game, in the Deed the Glory.

I liked it so much that I started an LLC ITTG.LLC which stood for In the Deed The Glory, the plan was to continue my mission of helping others find happiness and fulfillment in their lives.

Soon after this, my daughter Katie for Christmas presented me with a gift - a great looking Under Armour tee shirt that had on the front "In the deed FIND glory." It was a great looking shirt and I really did like it but for some stupid reason I pointed out to her that it was In the Deed THE Glory, she then felt bad and I, in turn, felt worse. What a boneheaded move on my part. I assured her I liked it, which I did. It was a great looking shirt and I wore it often.

Back to ITDTG, after a couple years no real progress was made and it just did not have the right feel for me so I began to look at other options. As I continued to wear my favorite shirt In the Deed Find Glory the reaction I received from others was very encouraging. It was all starting to fall in place.

Deed: Something that is done, accomplished.

Find: To locate, attain or obtain by effort.
Glory: A source of honor, adoring praise or worshipful thanksgiving, a state
of great splendor, a state of absolute happiness.

Whatever task that you are faced with, locate and with great effort obtain honor in your work which will lead to thanksgiving and a state of absolute happiness. #IntheDeedFindGlory.

Last year I started ITDFG.LLC. This year, the business of helping others find glory will be up and running.

Sometimes the best gifts are the ones that at first, don't seem right.
